Old Catholic Bishop
Bishop Lauren E. Amore
Bishop Lauren E. Amore is an Old Catholic bishop, Doctor Of Nursing Practice, nurse practitioner, and educator whose work brings together faith, healing, and service. Consecrated to the episcopacy on February 26, 2026, she serves through the Church of Joan of Arc.
“Fiat voluntas tua” “Thy will be done.”
Her ministry is guided by her episcopal motto and a personal prayer: “May the way I lead, teach, and care for others serve God’s purposes.” These words express her commitment to approach leadership with humility, discernment, and compassion.
Alongside her ministry, Bishop Amore holds a Doctor Of Nursing Practice, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management. She practices as a nurse practitioner and serves as adjunct clinical nursing faculty at Marquette University, helping students develop clinical judgment, confidence, and compassionate care.
Her experiences in healthcare and education shape her approach to ministry: listening carefully, respecting each person’s dignity, and offering practical support alongside spiritual care. Whether caring for a patient, guiding a student, or accompanying someone in faith, Bishop Amore seeks to make her beliefs visible through service.
She lives in the Chicago area with her wife, Bishop Phoebe J. Amore.
